Trivia
My friends, Mike and Matt, have this Monkey BR or Crazy Drunken Monkey group which promotes and coordinates events for service industry folks. Just recently they have started having movie night at The Varsity on Mondays (which I am dying to go to!!!) and brought Team Trivia back on Tuesdays at Champps. I have been telling them I would make it to one for the past several weeks but other things keep getting in the way...like work. I decided to feel around to see if anyone would be interested in trivia last night and if I got two or three people to say yes then I would go. Turns out myself and five of my friends were the only people there for the first two questions. Flemings (I don't know if it has one "m" or two???)had a group show up middle of the first round. The questions were extremely difficult...to the point where with only three questions left in the game my team quit because there was no way we could win. These Flemings guys knew the most ridiculous stuff (I think they were using their cell phones to cheat - I mean really who knows who sang the theme song from Aladdin?) Anyway, I felt bad for them that no one showed but was glad I was at least there to show my support. On a sour note, one of the guys I work with came late to trivia because he came straight from work where he had just discovered through a trail of paperwork we may have a store manager stealing from us! So after a brief meeting with accounting to look at some bank deposits, our day may turn to BRPD etc.
5 more days until the Oscars!

My god, I'm embarrassed for them if they're not cheating! I'll go with you next time and we'll have fun even if trivia sucks.
I was a trivia nerd in high school and college. I made the all-city team in high school.
My intramural team, "The Sons of Canute", won the campus event.
Let the mocking of Jud begin.
Nat - sweet, we can nerd out together
Jud - wow, don't know what to say!
These questions were all pop culture though so it wasn't random facts or history we have all heard/studied and some of us still retain!
Pop culture is no longer a good category for me. I couldn't name most songs or artists on Top 40 radio anymore, and most TV I watch is in syndication or shows like Discovery channel, etc.
But, I think I still remember the little ditty to remember the kings and queens of England....
