Trivia, not so much

I needed to hook up with a few people last night to deliver necklaces they had ordered from Julie. Holly and I met at Red Star for a cocktail and catch-up. We were having beers and I decide to order us a shot of coffee vodka (my new favorite thing). I drank mine and in typical Holly style she smelled it, took a tiny taste, and said she was going to save it until after "she had a few more drinks". I was there before her and one beer ahead. 15 minutes pass, I go to the restroom, come out and shot is gone! Guilty look on her face, I ask where the shot is. "I took it"! Knowing this is bullshit, I look to Randall (bartender) for confirmation. Randall, also with guilty look and grin, "She took the shot". Now I know they collaborated while I was away. Either shot went into trash or Randall did it for her. Tricky people! Collin and Chris met us when they finished with work. Collin had been reprimanded outside of Red Star on his way in for honking his car horn (with car alarm) while the movie crew (see AZ post from Friday night) outside of bar was "rolling". Once we got over that, we drank a couple of beers and visited. Once Holly found out it was trivia night with Monkey Mike at Champps, we had a destination. The girl loves her some games. I mentioned that Red Star had a collection of board games we could play, but her heart was set on Trivia. Of we go to Champps for trivia with a pit stop by my place for the camera for party pics. We arrive early so we can eat before trivia. Problem = we thought trivia started at 9:00 so we arrive at 8:00. Turns out trivia doesn't start until 10:30ish! Geez, that is late for us old folks. While thumbing through menu and discussing dinner options, the subject of chicken comes up. Now, Chris is not a fan of chicken, he will eat it but would rather seafood or red meat. Holly, who works with chickens (further explination probably to come from Holly Bof in a comment on this post) contributes the following to the chicken discussion:
Chris about photo of chicken dish (something on a stick) on menu while making a disgusted look on his face: Is that chicken?
Me: Yes
Chris: That looks nasty!
Me to Holly: Chris is not a fan of chicken.
Holly: I could go the rest of my life without eating chicken.
Chris: Me too!
Holly: I am a beef girl!
I don't know if this is one of those moments in conversation where it would be said "guess you had to be there" but it was quite funny and caused a cackle from Holly Bof and Chris thought it was pretty funny too. The conversation continued into t-shirts being made etc...
Trivia did not go so well. Get Along Gang (our team name) got two of the first five questions right. We were the only team of nine or ten to get one question wrong...it was something about Drew Carey Show. Who watches that? Better luck next time I suppose. We left halfway through round one.

Sounds like a busy night, but fun. The Get a Long Gang is another reference unfamiliar to me.

So I created a new password (let's see how long I remember it!) Comments for blog posts are as follows:
1. In ref. To the things that u love u forgot might ultras and malboro lights. Also me.
2. In ref. To trivia night. I was there! Hello! It was at my bar! I feel so left out. You haveri give the questions a chance! This is educational drinking afterall, sit there long enough an u might learn something!
3. Missed u guys last Sunday while I was slaving away at work. Totally in for this week! I'm leaving the guiness behind though.
4. Amazing picture of Alexa. I think that was right before she started hamming it up.
5. Yes, it is chicken on a stick. At one point that was it's name on our menu. FYI. It is Muy delicioso.
6. Current theme of my comments... I feel left out of your Iife. Maybe I should start my own blog with pictures and funny anecdotes and quips. Oh wait, I have to have a computer for that. Scratch that idea.

darn predictive text. I apologize once and for all for these and any future blog comment posts with typos and inserted words that don't make sense in the sentence in which it resides. For the blogger world to know... Jen loves MICHY ULTRAS. Buy her a six pack and she will be your best friend. Dog is to bone as jen is to michy ultras. Guilty pleasure.

Sheridan,
I am so sorry for leaving you out. I assumed everone would know you were there because YOU are THE ONLY reson I even step foot in that place with my total disgust and dislike of chains; we know this!
I am excited you will be joining us Sunday, it is the last of the park series and it is Fest For All (sat & sun). We had a blast last year at it. I do think you need the guinees though, just wear dark clothing so it can hide your spills. Love you!

I never seemed to get those questions right on standardized tests. Maybe had they compared relative topics to college bound teens instead of acorn : oak as grapes: ?. Questions should have been kept to relating makeup, food, alchohol, jock strap and bra size. That seems about right. Thanks foe the pic blog out. I'm going to give collin a run foe his money. And his 4,000 dollar lens.

Okay
1. It was 6:15, I had only 2 sips of my Michy Ultra and you were putting a shot in front of me. Not only was it too early for a shot but I wasn't even warmed up.
2. Yes, Randell did take the shot for me and I thought we both covered it pretty well...not so much, haha.
3. Andrea Zuckermann, need I say more.
4. I admit, I love games and I felt as though I was up to the challenge. I realized very early on that my "wealth of knowledge", I use the term loosely, wasn't going to be useful in winning trivia night because as Jen stated we were the only group of 6 teams that failed to answer the Drew Carey Show question correctly. Am I missing something, was that actually a good show?
5. Kudo's to Serio on the Hall & Oates rendition.
6. Sheridan great job last night!

Gosh, I feel like I'm butting into the conversation! There were so many long and good comments I can't even remember what I was going to say! Oh! I remember. Red Star has board games? Shit, if my neighborhood weren't such a danger zone I might venture out to meet y'all. have fun. will see you this weekend.

I remember the first time I took over a blog by commenting 7 times on one post.

Moving on, please consider this my micro-blog(new genre):
**Women please stop hitting on Jen.
"I thought ya'll were just best friends"
-bartender at Red Star

"Yes, friends who make out, live and sleep together"
-me

Sheridan,
I love yuo,

'PS. I can't spell either.
