Sopranos

My cave day has turned into a Sopranos marathon. I gave Chris the entire Sopranos series (not my speed) for Christmas so we are watching all one million episodes today..yay!

If you did not read a few posts back; Cave Day = In bed all day watching trashy reality shows (ie: I Love New York, Rock of Love, or Housewives of Orange County!)

I Heart Spanishtown

Yesterday morning Chris and I walked to the farmer's market to see what we could score. As usual, the only thing we walked away with were those stupid wedding cookies that Chris has to have every time we go...if it makes him happy! Once we saw all there was to see (including a friend from high school and her son who she calls spirited...is that code for bad?) we headed back to Spanishtown and on to Capitol Grocery so we could sit and have a cup of coffee with our friend Rick (a.k.a. neighborhood gossip). We (ooops, Chris) spent the afternoon semi-cleaning out our office, and still have a VERY long way to go. Later we went over to Capital City Grill where we ran into Jeff and Donald, stayed for two cocktails then made our way to Happy's. Really, what's the point of those uniforms? Collin met us soon after and Joey wrecked on Government driving to meet us! When Joey finally arrived to tell the tale of the accident, he insisted on doing so with shots! Needless to say it was kind of a long night. We popped into Avoyelles for a minute to say hello to Erik and Justin (rockin' out behind the bar) then headed home. Today was to be Cave Day (Me and Chris call our lazy days where we watch stupid movies, reality TV marathons and eat take-out!) but I woke up way to early...boo!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Even though New Year's Eve started in a church at a wedding we were not sure if we were going to attend until that morning, it was nice! Happy 2008 everyone!!! Hope it is your best year yet!

Xmas Festivities!

Christams Eve Eve Mom went to NOLA to pick up Kristen! We spent the afternoon and early evening making dips and baking for Xmas Eve party (Will and Chris watched and ate Freakin' Chicken...whatever that is...looked disgusting). When I finished baking and decorating my homemade sugar cookies (that a five year old could have done a better job with), Will mentioned we should go to Southpaws in Prairieville to see Cam Pyle play. Yay! Way too many beers and Jager bombs but it was a blast. Struggling with a horrible hangover, we managed to make it back to Mom's to help her pull together the house for the in-and-out company for the Xmas Eve Open House party we have every year. We exchanged gifts with immediate family before any guests arrived. It is funny how you can tell alot about someone by the very similar gifts that everyone gives to one person...apparently I drink way too much coffee (CC's Gifts Cards (multiple) and a vintage Community Coffee canister, Mom drinks way too much wine (wine glasses, coffee table book on wine, and a bottle of wine from each of her offspring, and lastly...not that this is a shock to anyone...Rick is obsessed with LSU)! Overall it was a nice day and I enjoyed spending time with my family, especially my cousins who are always good for a make-your-stomach hurt laugh. I am leaving today to spend a few days in NOLA with Chris' family and will post holiday photos when I return. i have three christmas parties to attend tonight all between the hours of 7 and 10 and all on one block of third street downtown: Red Star Christams Party, Danny McGlynn's imfamous RED DRESS PARTY (ooooh! aaaaaah!) and my work Christmas Party (which will bring together the likes of construction workers, electricians, and corporate america...will be interesting. Oh and did I forget to mention there will be Karaoke for all to enjoy at my work bash? I will need lots of cocktails tonight.) Updates and photos to come...

my camera is finally working again, after a year of rest! i should be posting pics soon to photo document life for everyone. i wish i would have remembered to pull the camera out of my purse last night while sipping on a beer in the hilton bar with judd nelson (he is part of the cast in chris' movie). i have been a big fan of his since seeing the breakfast club when i was 12 (still one of my favorite movies). he was every bit as cool as i thought he would be. i hope to see him again before the movie wraps, maybe we can pose for a pic together then!
